Victorian Places lists Hillside among the new suburbs that grew from the Caroline Springs development. About 17,300 people lived across the locality at the 2021 Census, the median age was 36, and 83 per cent of occupied homes were owned or being bought. Many gardens here are first-generation landscaping that has now had twenty-odd years.
Melton Landscaping does not do landscaping. Your request goes to a local landscaper who works Hillside.

Which council are you in?
Part of Hillside is in the City of Melton and part is in the City of Brimbank. Tree controls and permits depend on which council your property is in, so check which one your rates notice names before you plan. If the work is near a pool, ask for the barrier to be checked against Victoria's barrier rules.
Registration and permits
Planting, turf and garden maintenance are not registered work in Victoria. Walls, paving, decks and other structural work under a domestic building contract worth more than $10,000 must be carried out by a practitioner registered with the Building and Plumbing Commission, so ask who is registered and whether anything needs a building permit.

If the frame and footings are sound, new boards may be enough. Ask the landscaper to check before quoting.
