About Melton Landscaping
Updated November 2026
Melton Landscaping is a referral service for the City of Melton. You tell us about a landscaping job, and we pass it to an independent local landscaper who works your suburb. That is the whole service.
The process
1. You fill in the quote form with your suburb and what you are planning.
2. Your request goes to a local landscaper who covers that part of the City of Melton.
3. They contact you, look at the site and give you a written quote.
4. If you go ahead, you deal with the landscaper directly. If you do not, you owe nothing.
Why the City of Melton
The City of Melton has 31 suburbs, and the land between the Melton township and Caroline Springs, once sparsely settled, has been filling with new estates. That makes it a region of bare yards on new lots, sitting alongside eastern suburbs whose gardens date from the late 1990s and 2000s and township streets that go back to the 1970s. The ground is the basalt clay of Melbourne's west, which moves with the seasons and shapes how walls, paving and decks should be built. The pages here explain the work, the rules that apply in Victoria and the guide prices, so you can read a quote with some confidence.
What we do not do
We do not do landscaping, we do not do building work, and we do not vouch for any contractor. Victoria has no landscaping licence. Planting, turf and garden maintenance are not registered work, but structural landscaping is building work. Domestic building work under a contract worth more than $10,000 must be carried out by a practitioner registered with the Building and Plumbing Commission, and building permit requirements come from the Building Regulations 2018, applied by councils and registered building surveyors. Before you sign, ask the landscaper which parts of your job are structural, check their registration and insurance where it applies, and get the answers in the written quote.
Prices on this site are guide ranges only, shown ex GST. The landscaper's written quote is the price that counts.
