Updated November 2026
Cobblebank is part of the band of new suburbs filling the gap between the Melton township and the eastern estates. At the 2021 Census it had about 3,600 residents and a median age of 29, and 99 per cent of occupied homes were separate houses. Estates are still filling, so most landscaping enquiries are for a yard on a home that has just been handed over.
Melton Landscaping does not do landscaping. Your request goes to a local landscaper who works Cobblebank.
Landscaping jobs in Cobblebank

Before you book
New-estate yards often start with compacted fill and builder's rubble. Ask the landscaper what they will remove, what soil they will bring in, and how they will set falls away from the house. Lodge a free Before You Dig Australia (BYDA) enquiry before any digging, because services run under new yards too.
Registration and permits
Planting, turf and garden maintenance are not registered work in Victoria. Walls, paving, decks and other structural work under a domestic building contract worth more than $10,000 must be carried out by a practitioner registered with the Building and Plumbing Commission, so ask who is registered and whether anything needs a building permit.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a licence to lay my own turf?
No. Turf and planting are not registered building work in Victoria.
Is a plan worth it for a small yard?
For a simple yard, a landscaper can plan on site. A plan helps when you want to stage the work or compare quotes.
Can paving go to the kerb?
The crossover over the nature strip falls under Melton City Council's crossover policy. Next to a footpath it must be plain concrete or match the footpath.
